Lectric XP Lite Foldable Electric Bike Review
Test Riding the Lectric XP Lite Electric Bike: A Budget E-Bike That Rides Like a High-End Model
The XP Lite from Lectric Ebikes is one of the most popular e-bike models, and after taking it for a test ride, it's easy to see why. With an approachable price point but high-end components and ride quality, the XP Lite hits a sweet spot in the market.
Right away, the details shine through. The grips have some flex and cushioning, unlike the plastic grips on most budget e-bikes. The half-twist throttle provides smooth, controlled acceleration up to 20mph. Backlit LCD screen, brake levers with smooth, responsive braking power, and adjustable handlebars and seat post all lend to a customizable, comfortable cockpit.
The XP Lite handles more stably than expected thanks to some designed-in resistance in the steering. Quick-release clamps make saddle height and handlebar adjustments easy. With the seat raised, even taller riders like my 5'11" frame can find a comfortable upright position. Yet the bike is light enough (45lbs) for smaller riders to maneuver with ease when lowered.
A 300W nominal rear hub motor propels the XP Lite up to 20mph throttle-only speed and assists pedaling up to the same speed in the highest of 5 pedal assist levels. It powered me steadily up a 6-7% grade at 13-14mph. The single speed isn't ideal for steep hills but the XP Lite handled a short 26% grade at reduced speed. Wider 2" tires soak up bumps and cracks with ease. Gravel riding proved no issue for the grippy tread.
The suspension saddle, wider tires, and stable frame provide a comfortable, smooth ride at up to my tested 25mph top speed. The XP Lite maintains sturdy composure even hitting sidewalk cracks and gravel patches at speed. Minimal noise or rattling sounds reinforce the feeling of a quality ride.
With a 48V removable battery integrated cleanly into the aluminum frame, the XP Lite can deliver over 40 miles range on flat ground. My real world test over varied terrain resulted in just under 14 miles range at a 20mph average pace. The battery recharges in 5-6 hours.
In sum, the XP Lite punches above its weight class, providing a comfortable, customizable, quality riding experience comparable to far more expensive e-bikes. For an affordable but high-end feeling ride, the XP Lite is tough to beat.
