Solar FF Lite Dual Motor Electric Scooter Review
Title: Solar FF Lite Scooter Review
Transcript:
Hey there, today we are going to be reviewing the Solar FF Lite Scooter, a high-powered dual motor scooter that boasts of stability, power, 360 lights, and some unique features not seen on other dual motor scooters.
First, let's talk about the motor. Unlike most scooters in its class, the Solar FF Lite Scooter has no single dual motor button. Instead, the light has the option to switch off one of the motors, but it goes about it a little bit differently. If you hit the S button near the throttle, that switches between the front motor, the rear motor, or both at the same time. For the first speed test, I only used one motor, and the top speed for just one motor was 21 miles per hour, which is pretty fast for a single motor.
Moving on to the dual motor test, the acceleration is impressive with the FF Lite's latest sine wave controller. With those dual motors, it doesn't take long to hit 20 miles per hour. In fact, I reached that speed in about a fourth of a block. For novice riders, you have to be slow and gentle with the single motor. For more advanced riders, hitting both motors on results in a powerful takeoff.
Cruising around 15 miles an hour and releasing the throttle, the power cuts right off, and re-engaging it kicks on and gets you going pretty quickly. The power delivery with the lights is excellent; it comes on quick and fast but not so much where you're going to be thrown off the back of the scooter. It's a good combination of power and stability.
The Solar FF Lite Scooter has a hill rating of 45, so it shouldn't have any problem with a 15-grade hill. With dual motors, speed mode three, and full power, just unleashing the full power of this thing up the hill starts to get steep here, holding a 21-22-21. It could definitely tackle something much steeper.
The braking system on this scooter is also noteworthy. Foreign has my personal favorite for hydraulic brakes for dual motor scooters, and it doesn't get much smoother than nut brakes. The left side controls the rear brake, and the right side controls the front. The levers feel nice, and it doesn't take a lot of pressure to engage them. The braking is nice and smooth, with no pulsating or grinding.
Finally, let's talk about the battery life. For this test, I averaged 23 miles per hour and only had about a handful of stops. This battery just kept on going and going. I still had 25% battery left, and the range rating is 40 miles, which I think you could definitely get with the light.
Overall, the Solar FF Lite Scooter is an excellent scooter, with a weight of 75 pounds and can carry a larger rider up to 330 pounds. As far as the posture and geometry go, there's no rider size rating, but I'm 5'11", and it's a good height for my frame. The cockpit area is spacious, and that allows me to get down and low for faster speeds or rougher terrain going 18-19 miles an hour. The Solar FF Lite Scooter is a great choice for those looking for a high-powered scooter with unique features.
