Evolve Pro V2 Electric Scooter Review - Speed, Range, Ride Quality

The Evolve Pro V2 is a high-powered dual motor electric scooter from Evolve, a company known for performance electric skateboards and scooters. In this in-depth review, we'll look at the Pro V2's top speed, range, power delivery, stability, ride quality, brakes, tires, lights and more to help you decide if it's the right electric scooter for you.

Top Speed

The Pro V2 has a top speed of 37 mph, which is fast but not the fastest in its price range. For a 185 lb rider, hitting 40 mph wasn't possible. There is some speed wobble at speeds above 30 mph which Evolve says they are working on fixing with an internal steering dampener or add-on accessory.

Acceleration & Power

The Pro V2 delivers power very smoothly, gradually ramping up torque rather than jerking you forward off the line. This gives a quick but controlled launch. There's plenty of hill climbing ability too with dual motors providing lots of torque.

Brakes

The brake levers are reversed from what you'd expect in the US, with the right controlling the rear. The ABS brakes can be jerky when first applied. Turning off ABS makes the hydraulic brakes smooth but they could be more powerful for the weight and speed.

Range

For a 185 lb rider averaging 33 mph, range was 15.39 miles with 565 ft elevation gain. Evolve claims up to 35 miles range which seems reasonable if riding around 15-18 mph. Battery does drain quickly at full throttle.

Ride Quality

The ride takes some getting used to. Weight feels too far forward rather than centered. Curved handlebars angle outward unnaturally. Wide handlebar width exacerbates instability. Using the rear foot fin helps center weight better. Takes learning the right stance.

Tires

The tires absorb small bumps and vibrations nicely. Good ground clearance for moderate off-roading but tread not aggressive enough for trails. suspension smooths out landings from curbs and drops.

Lights

Very bright LED headlight and deck lighting make the Pro V2 great for night riding. Color changing lights can be controlled remotely.

Other Features

Generous stem height, smooth throttle control, wide braking surface. Could improve throttle grip location and reduce deck bolt protrusions.

Overall the Evolve Pro V2 delivers speed and power but has some quirks to its ride quality and braking. While fast and well equipped for night riding, some refinements could make it more balanced and stable at high speed.
